Re: Samoa to do the damage

i think speed will be a factor & tonga have plenty of it.if their forwards jsut do the yards with thier power game & mateo unleash the speed men samoa with their EXPERIENCED backs will have a long night.

i'm gonna go out on a limb here & say TONGA by 20!

    no hype there!

Re: Samoa to do the damage

I think they have been low key as in they haven't played a game of footy yet and most people are not sure what to expect from them even though they have a experienced line up.

The only hype is comming from the media, William Edwards the Tongan manager and Cooper Vuna's comments "warned there will be no stopping anyone" if Samoa step over the halfway line. If anyone walks over the line it will be all on," Vuna said. "If one person steps over that line it will just go 'boom'.

Look forward to seeing Vuna run into Francis Meli or George Carmont...

Just watching the two teams perform the siva's is enough to put ice on fire.

Keep the ball away from Jennings and starve Mateo of space and ball and Toa should come through with a win.

Tonga needs to play are smart disciplined game. I think experience will count for a lot tonight. There will be hot heads and tempers flying and that's where i see Samoa having the edge with guys like Puletua, Talau, Lauitiiti and Vagana. Play hard and fair and focus on winning the game not trying to bash your opponents every time they run it  up to you.

    Samoa 22 Tonga 14

Man of the Match : Francis Meli 3 tries.

The beauty of forums is we all have our own opinions... so here's mine

    Tonga 25 Samoa 24

Mateo drop goal 5 mons to go!

Jennings will be man of the match... couple tries and a few try savers...

looking forward to Puletua, Lauaitiiti & Solomona running into Kaufusi, Lopini Paea & Fa'aoso!

Re: Samoa to do the damage

    Kia Ora from Brisbane

Ok current best odds available shows Samoa at $1.44 at Ladbrokes and Tonga at $3.50 at 888Sports.

This shows that Samoa are going into the game as clear favourites, and if Tonga were to win it would be a big upset. Now the question is why would the bookies offer these odds in this favour. I would have to say IMHO ....experience of players.

    The line up...

    1.      Smith Samau
    2.      Matt Utai
    3.      Willie Talau
    4.      George Carmont
    5.      Francis Meli
    6.      Nigel Vagana
    7.      Ben Roberts
    8.      Kylie Leulua’i
    9.      Terence Seuseu
    10. Tony Puletua
    11. Lagi Setu
    12. Dave Solomona
    13. Harrison Hansen
    14. Frank Puletua
    15. Ali Lauitiiti
    16. Joseph Paulo
    17. Alby Talipeau

    and Tonga

Michael Jennings, Cooper Vuna, Fetuli Talanoa, Etuate Uasisele, Esikeli Tonga, Feleti Mateo, Joel Taufaao, Antonio Kaufusi, Tevita Leo-Latu, Awen Guttenbeil, Lopini Paea (capt), Richard Faaoso, Willie Manu. Interchange: Manase Manuokafoa, Epalahame Lauaki, Sam Moa, Mickey Paea.

Think about it guys putting passion aside, discipline and experience is what wins the game.

Quick recap who had the most top level experienced teams between?:

Aussies Vs Kiwis? Kiwis Vs Tonga? Samoa Vs Tonga?

Really enjoying this thread, and its a pitty I have to work while the games on, but Im sure I'll be hearing the thunderous HITS from all the way up here in Brisbane. One quick question .. wheres the playmaker Eddie Paea?
