Marv- Good point and I concur-.
The point of these forums is not to delve into malicious name calling that borders on the idiotic and has nothing to do with rugby league. I commend you for your tolerance and foresight in not engaging too much with those perpetuating those odious claims.
The point that riled me so badly with Cedar was the persistent promoting of a misplaced cause. To have pride in the Lebnense team is not a fault yet the incessant and fervent reminders of the Lebanese team, the crowds, the pride and passion of the jersey, the domestic completion, their support for the game in Australia, the Leb fighters and how hard they hit- was just too much!!!
The veiled references to the influenced of the New Zealand players in the Samoan team yet ironically you failed to see your own Australian laced team. Where was the domestic competition that you revered and their finished products?
When you deify these things and believe that somehow they are infallible then when things go awry people will seize the opportunity to demonstrate how little your grasp of league is and all transfer their resentment at all the things that you advanced as affirming about the Lebanese cause. Caucasians, Africans, Americans, Polynesians, Anglo Saxons etc... all embrace similar values and passion for their teams and not just Lebanese people but most show some notion of modesty .
Intangible like the things noted above were never going to be factors in determining the outcome of the game especially as the game was played at a neutral venue.
Thankfully for this forum the game is over and so are the pipe dreams of Cedar. I hope for your own sake that when the next world cup is mooted you would demonstrate humbleness, meekness and even be contrite when faced with defeat.
As I stated in my earlier posting the brash talking takes place after the game and that is the sole domain of the victor whist the vanquished who had been so conceited and supercilious is left to seek succor elsewhere
